Job summary

Porter is a fast-growing healthcare IT and services platform seeking a Billing & Claims Analyst to join our team. You will track submissions, holds, payments, and invoiced items within Athena and flag patterns for correction by the Revenue Cycle & Claims Operations Lead.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in medical billing/claims, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with Athena; a proactive, detail-focused approach will help improve accuracy and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of medical billing/claims experience.
• Proficiency with Athena or similar EMR/RCM system.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); SQL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reports in Athena covering submission status, hold queues, and payment status.
• Reconcile claims with invoices for encounter/penny-claim arrangements and verify amounts match.
• Monitor claim submission activity and identify holds needing escalation.
• Document recurring issues and support testing of new Athena rules or workflows.
• Contribute claim-level details to the 90-day Athena assessment and future EMR evaluations.
