Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Associate - Liability | Property Damage in Plano, TX. Join a global industry leader known for caring counts and strong client service. The role analyzes lower-level property damage claims to determine benefits and supports more complex claims as needed.

You’ll report to the Plano office for the first 90 days, then a hybrid schedule with in-office attendance every Tuesday. Requires a High School Diploma, licensing, and one year of office experience.

Responsibilities

• Process general liability claims and monitor reserves.
• Communicate claim actions with claimants, clients, and medical contacts.
• Ensure files are documented and coding is correct.
• May process routine payments and status reports for lifetime or defined period medical claims.
• Maintain professional client relationships.
• Support the organization’s quality programs.

WORK LOCATIONS: The selected candidate will be required to report to the Plano, Texas office for the first 90 days of employment. Following this initial onboarding period, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule requiring in-office attendance every Tuesday. Please note that this schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To analyze reported lower-level level property damage claims to determine benefits due; and to ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards and industry best practices.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE

• Handles lower-level property damage claims under close supervision.
• Supports other claims representatives, examiners and leads with larger or more complex claims as necessary.
• Processes general liability claims determining compensability and benefits due; monitors reserve accuracy, and files necessary documentation with state agency.
• Communicates claim action/processing with claimant, client and appropriate medical contact.
• Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
• May process routine payments and prescriptions and status reports for lifetime medical claims and/or defined period medical claims.
• Maintains professional client relationships.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the organization's quality program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education & Licensing: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
• Experience: One (1) year of general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Claims industry experience preferred.
• Licensing: Required upon employment.
• Jurisdiction: All states.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

• Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines
• Physical: Computer keyboarding, travel as required
• Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision and talking
