Job summary

The Plymouth Rock Company is seeking a Casualty Claim Associate in New Jersey to handle First- and Third-Party Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims in Personal Lines and Commercial environments. You will conduct initial contacts, obtain reports, and perform basic liability investigations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of claims experience, with opportunities to develop proficiency in ClaimsPro and related systems, and to engage in subrogation and negotiations on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 1 year or more of experience handling property damage or PIP claims.
• Some litigation experience and knowledge of the New Jersey court system is preferred.
• Knowledge of PA, CT or NY claims handling would be beneficial.
• Currently holds and/or can readily obtain an out-of-state license(s) (i.e. CT, Delaware, Florida, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial contacts with insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Obtain police reports, medical records, and supporting documentation.
• Complete basic liability and injury investigations.
• Establish initial reserves with supervisor guidance.
• Manage diaries and claim tasks timely.
• Identify potential subrogation opportunities.
• Assist with negotiations on lower-complexity claims.
• Participate in training programs and coaching sessions.
• Develop proficiency in ClaimsPro and other claims systems.
• Identify fraud indicators and make SIU referrals when appropriate.
• Demonstrate knowledge of state regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Possess knowledge of and adherence to State(s) laws and regulatory claim handling guidelines and statutory regulations.
• Adhere to departmental internal control requirements. Comply with Plymouth Rock’s standards, best practices and ethical guidelines, adhere to Plymouth Rock’s culture.

SALARY RANGE

The pay range for this position is $61,000 to $79,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
