Job summary

American International Group (AIG) seeks a Claims Analyst III to grow expertise in handling Employment Practices Liability with potential to manage Director & Officers claims. You will identify and resolve coverage issues, communicate findings clearly to insureds, brokers and underwriters, and collaborate with counsel and vendors throughout the life of each claim.

  • Must have claims and/or litigation experience.
  • Financial Lines experience (EPL, D&O, ERISA) preferred.
  • Ability to analyze insurance policies and legal documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; JD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle Employment Practices Liability claims with opportunity to handle Director & Officers claims.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve multiple coverage issues promptly.
  • Provide clear, concise written and verbal communication to insureds, brokers, underwriters, and risk managers.
  • Investigate claims for coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Work with insured and defense counsel to formulate cost-effective resolutions.
  • Manage reserves and payments to avoid deficit.

Through a robust stakeholder feedback loop and supported by consistent processes and leadership, we take pride in delivering responsive, fair and professional service with empathy and efficiency.How you will create an impactAs a Claims Analyst III, you will be responsible for handling Employment Practices Liability with opportunity to handle Director & Officers Claims, identifying, investigating, and resolving multiple coverage issues at the earliest appropriate time and providing clear and concise written and verbal communication of policy coverage issues to insureds, brokers, underwriters and risk managers. Additional responsibilities below:· Timely investigate claims for coverage, liability and damage analysis.· Be thoughtful and work with the Insured and defense counsel to formulate effective and cost-effective claims resolutions.· Effectively analyze and budget the litigation of each claim on pending through timely and regular discussions with counsel, vendors and insureds through life of claim.· Determine judgmental value on all files in pending within a reasonable time frame and make presentations to management as necessary.· Manage reserve adjustments and payments to avoid deficit payments.What you’ll need to succeedClaims and/or litigation experience.Financial Lines experience (EPL, D&O, ERISA claims) preferred.Ability to analyze policies of insurance and legal documents.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. For positions based in Illinois, the base salary range is $62,000-$82,500. For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $56,000-$89,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
