Job summary

IMA Financial Group, Inc. in the United States is seeking an experienced claims professional focused on Energy (Oil & Gas, Renewables, Power Generation).

You will support claim strategies, manage client communications, and collaborate with carriers and TPAs to drive timely resolutions. The role requires 5+ years of energy claims experience, a bachelor’s or equivalent, and strong technical knowledge of coverage and claims handling.

  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills.

Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

  • Maintains a proactive approach focusing on claim strategies and resolutions
  • Advocates for the timely, optimal resolution of claim matters for our clients
  • Communicates pertinent claim information timely to internal and external clients
  • Maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Subject matter knowledge and expertise associated with the Energy industry (e.g. Oil & Gas, Renewables, Power Generation).
  • Participates in presentations, including new business, RFPs (clients, TPAs), claim reviews, renewals, etc.
  • Develops strong working knowledge of IMA computer systems/programs
  • Assists Claim Manager with claim staff onboarding, training and development
  • Develops and expands relationships at local, regional and national levels with carriers, TPAs, legal resources, consultants, etc.
  • Leads and contributes to Claim Projects, and other tasks as assigned
  • Attends insurance related seminars including but not limited to continuing education classes

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: include but are not limited to:

  • 5 + years of prior Claims experience within Energy business
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree
  • System skills or aptitude – Applied Epic, Carrier and TPA platforms preferred
  • Experience with MS Office products preferred/required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Exceptional technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling
  • Moderate travel required (10-25%)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills required
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers.

Salary Range: $87,000 USD - $130,000 USD
