Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, seeks a civil/environmental/water resources or biological engineer to join our Millersville team. You will work on wetlands, streams, and water resources projects, including stream restoration, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and living shoreline assessment and design.

The role involves design, analysis, permit support, and client communications, with emphasis on using AutoCAD and related tools to deliver high-quality results for projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resources or biological engineering; EIT certification.
• Preference for up to five years of relevant experience.
• Experience with stream restoration design and hydrologic/hydraulic modelling.
• Familiarity with floodplain modelling and AutoCAD-based design tools.

Responsibilities

• Design stream restoration projects and create project drawings.
• Perform stream assessment and monitoring.
• Oversee stream restoration construction.
• Conduct hydrologic watershed analyses and hydraulic modelling.
• Design SWM/LID/BMP features and living shorelines.
• Prepare permit documents and client presentations.
• Produce Autodesk CAD drawings for projects.

Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a civil/environmental/water resources or biological engineer interested in wetlands, streams, and water resources to join our Millersville, Maryland team. Projects include stream restoration, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, low impact development, wetlands mitigation design, and living shoreline assessment and design.

Job Duties

Primary duties will include:

• Stream restoration design, project drawings
• Stream assessment and monitoring
• Stream restoration construction oversight
• Hydrologic watershed analysis
• Hydraulic analysis of open and closed drainage systems
• SWM/LID/BMP design
• Living shoreline assessments and design
• Wetlands mitigation design, project drawings
• Clean Water Act permitting
• Chesapeake Bay preservation studies and approvals
• Preparing presentations for hearings and client review
• Other civil and environmentally-related studies
• Autodesk® computer aided design work

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resources or biological engineering, or closely related discipline
• EIT

PREFERRED:

• Up to five years of relevant experience
• Experience with stream restoration design
• Experience with hydrologic and/or hydraulic modelling
• Experience with floodplain modelling
• Experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and TR-55
• Master’s degree in civil/environmental or biological engineering, or closely related discipline
