Glory Hill in Northern Virginia is seeking a Civil Water Resources Engineer to support stormwater management and land development projects, with exposure to both new development and redevelopment work and opportunities to expand into hydrologic modeling and floodplain studies.

You will design stormwater systems, prepare construction plans and reports, perform inspections, and coordinate with reviewing agencies while collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years civil engineering experience, preferably in land development or water resources.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Knowledge of stormwater management design and permitting.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Design stormwater management systems, including bioretention facilities, ponds, permeable pavement, green roofs, underground detention, and manufactured treatment systems
  • Prepare construction plans, calculations, specifications, technical reports, and permit applications
  • Develop stormwater management concepts for multi-phase development projects
  • Perform construction observations and stormwater facility inspections
  • Research local and state regulations and coordinate with reviewing agencies
  • Support construction administration and address agency review comments
  • Manage project assignments, schedules, and deadlines
  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams

Civil Water Resources Engineer

Northern Virginia

A growing multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Civil Water Resources Engineer to support stormwater management and land development projects. This position offers exposure to both new development and redevelopment work, with opportunities to expand into hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, and dam-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design stormwater management systems, including bioretention facilities, ponds, permeable pavement, green roofs, underground detention, and manufactured treatment systems
  • Prepare construction plans, calculations, specifications, technical reports, and permit applications
  • Develop stormwater management concepts for multi-phase development projects
  • Perform construction observations and stormwater facility inspections
