Stantec's multi-disciplinary office in Charleston and Columbia, SC has a paid summer internship position as a Civil/Transportation Engineering Intern. You will be part of our Transportation Group, contributing to roadway and traffic projects using CAD tools including MicroStation/OpenRoads and modeling software such as Synchro and SIDRA.

Your Opportunity

Stantec's multi-disciplinary office in Charleston and Columbia, SC has an opportunity for a highly motivated Civil/Transportation Engineering Intern.

This position offers work as a member of our Transportation Group in a team environment with exposure to roadway and traffic engineering projects. Roadway projects may include assisting with roadway design, construction observation, grading design, stormwater modeling and analysis, traffic control design, and the use of CAD software including MicroStation and OpenRoads in support of active South Carolina DOT, County, and City transportation projects. Traffic engineering tasks may include traffic analysis using Synchro and SIDRA modeling software.

This is a paid summer internship position with opportunity for a part-time schedule during the semester.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Gather project data - Prepare and assemble reports and drawings

• Perform routine calculations

• Assist with MicroStation drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents

• Observe and attend meetings with design team, and other project stakeholders

• Other related tasks as assigned

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Literacy in MicroStation is an asset

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction

• Ability to work independently

• Must have a good driving record, and valid driver’s license

Education and Experience

• In progress towards earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
