Job summary

Pacific Network Solutions Construction in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Civil Tech II to support telecommunications site builds. You will perform civil tasks, operate equipment, assist with permits, and manage punch lists while complying with safety standards on active project sites.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, assisting with permits and inspections as required.
  • Execute civil tasks including operating equipment, and VAC operation.
  • Perform civil work such as trenching, digging, concrete forming/pouring, and restoration.
  • Provide technical support as needed.
  • Generate and resolve punch lists during the project schedule and prior to customer inspections.
  • Efficiently operate and adjust commonly used wireless industry tools.
  • Perform duties in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Work within traffic control as per city/county jurisdiction.
  • Maintain and service equipment regularly.
  • Any and all other duties assigned.

Key Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

SAFETY

DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work performed at significant heights, requiring ability and comfort with climbing towers, lifting heavy equipment, and working in elevated positions using climbing gear and safety equipment.
  • This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs and directions, stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, climb with, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, ladders and/ or towers; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around sites, in the air, or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and other tools within local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
  • This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside, frequently for extended periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, wind and rain.
  • While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
EXPECTED POSITION HOURS
  • This is a full-time position. Overtime may be required as job duties demand, and with prior approval.
  • Must be able to work weekends, overnight, out of the market or away from home and willingness to travel overnight as work demands.
Qualifications
  • Ability to handle elevated work with a 50 lb. load.
  • Experience working on ladders or bucket trucks.
  • Capability to crouch, kneel, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% for extended periods if required.
  • Flexibility for shift work, including maintenance windows and weekends.
  • A valid Driver’s License or CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, regulations, manuals, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Local to the market.
  • AT&T/Verizon experience is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction and/or telecommunications.
  • Experience with fiber testing and work is a plus.
  • OSHA Safety standards certification is preferred (training provided).
  • Ability to travel.

Certifications, Licenses, and other Requirements
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Mandatory possession of a current valid Driver’s License; CDL is advantageous.
  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Ability to be covered by company auto Insurance.
  • Successful completion and clearance of a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and background check.
Pay Range

$22.00 - $26.00
