Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Civil/Structural Substation Engineer to join the ICE Team in Michigan to elevate infrastructure. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and 5–10 years of substation design experience are required. Proficiency with Bentley ProjectWise, MS Office, and Bluebeam Revu is essential; knowledge of STAAD, MathCAD, LPILE, and RISA is preferred.

A professional Engineering License is preferred. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years of civil/structural experience with high voltage substation design.
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor.
• Strong knowledge of utility standards (AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC).
• Professional Engineering License is preferred.
• Willingness to travel and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for structural design of electrical substation structures and foundations.
• Prepare and review calculations following industry standard methods and principles.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to junior engineers.
• Assist in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards.
• Perform detailed quality reviews of project deliverables.
• Attend and/or conduct client and project meetings.
• Attend site visits as required.
• Promote sales and maintain excellent client relations.
• Review scope, budget and schedule for project tasks.
• Assist with proposals, marketing, project reports and technical presentations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Experience with STAAD, MathCAD, LPILE, RISA or equivalent engineering software is preferred. Some travel will be required for this role. A professional Engineering License is preferred. The candidate must also be self‑motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible work schedule (hybrid or remote) is available.
