Job summary

GPI is seeking Civil/Structural/Highway/Water Resources interns for the Columbia Branch with offices in Columbia, MD, Milford, DE, and New Castle, DE. Interns will be performing field investigations, analysis, 3D design, drafting, plan development, report writing, contractor submittal reviews, and construction-phase site visits.

The preferred candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have some knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in an office environment to gain full internship experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and design.
• Prepare cohesive and organized engineering calculations.
• Draft using 3D CADD software.
• Assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Develop task deliverables for review by a Senior Engineer.
• Complete tasks within assigned schedule and budget.
• Work independently under supervision of a Senior Engineer.
• Participate in field inspections of future project locations and active sites.
• Assist with report writing.
