Job summary

Giles Flythe Engineers, Inc. offers summer internships in Civil, Construction, or Architectural Engineering. You will work in the field with engineers, performing investigations and preparing reports that translate into real repairs and improvements.

You will collaborate on HOA and commercial projects, gain hands-on experience, and travel to inspection sites nationwide. This internship emphasizes teamwork, communication, and practical field skills in Raleigh/Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, or Architectural Engineering.
• Prior construction or structural engineering internship experience is desirable.
• Proven technical writing and report writing skills.
• Strong communication and ability to interact with the team daily.
• Ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Willing to perform inspections in crawl spaces, attics, basements and roofs.
• Experience with MS Office and AutoCAD a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site field investigations and structural assessment of existing homes, buildings, or structures.
• Complete forensic structural engineering evaluations and reports.
• Work on HOA and commercial property projects.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Travel to inspection sites, residential and commercial.
