Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
• Strong design and analysis skills for transmission, distribution, and substation structures.
• Ability to travel to Nucor plants and trade shows.
• Experience with structural steel pole design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents (transmission line drawings and project specifications).
• Design transmission, distribution, substation, and other utility structures, primarily tubular steel poles and arms.
• Typical responsibilities range from preliminary design concept pre-sale to checking final design post-sale; use PLS-Pole for global design and proprietary calculations for component design.
• Provide technical support to sales, detailing, project management, and production teammates.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate projects with internal and external customers, including other design professionals.
• Occasional travel to Nucor plants, utility offices, field locations, or to trade shows.
