Job Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities
The role of the Civil/Structural Engineer is to implement a competitive, successful engineering strategy, dedicate to work on civil, hydraulic, water/wastewater, transportation, building and plant infrastructures, to provide an efficient support for other team members and professionals to the growth of TLC. The purpose of TLC engineering team is to deliver its high-quality products on time, on budget, to meet client demands, compliance with engineering specifications and industrial standards. To achieve this goal, the project civil engineer to be recruited shall play as a team player. All his/her work shall ensure that engineering specifications and client requirements are met, all design and submittals schedules are congregated. The Civil Engineer shall also provide dedicated support to operations and business teams in the development of competitive proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Work in compliance with project requirements and specifications on all tasks assigned in projects.
- Work on multiple projects in parallel toward on-time and on-budget based deliverables.
- Take full responsibility for assigned working tasks including but not limited to civil, structural and utility disciplines.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to team leaders and project managers for outstanding problems or conflicts.
- Coordinate effectively with project teams and aligned with other colleagues to work as a united team.
- Responsible for quality and assurance on engineering tasks assigned in any type of engineering consulting work.
- Provide feedback in a timely manner to the colleagues, team leaders and project managers in design coordination.
- Capitalize the lessons learned from previous projects and individual experiences.
- Motivate to provide suggestions and recommendations in technical and organization proficiency improvements.
- Efficiently manage design calculations, design change records, project documentations and design submittals.
- Assist in project developments by providing required calculations, sketches/drawings to support proposals activities.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering discipline, emphases on Civil, hydraulic, water, or structural discipline.
- 8-12 years of experience with at least 3 years of civil, hydraulic analysis, water/wastewater, or structural engineering consulting practices. TXDOT certification or ability to get certified by TXDOT is also desired but not required.
- Trackable record of engineering consulting experience to contribute deliverables on-time and within budget.
- Wide range of knowledge and experiences both in civil and structural disciplines.
- Demonstrates solid knowledge in civil engineering and high potential in problem solving in diverse infrastructures.
- Initiative and capable of solving engineering problems and challenges encountered on multi-type of projects.
- Familiarity with design specifications and industry standards, such as IBC, AASHTO, FEMA, OSHA, and so on.
- Proficiency in use of civil, structural, hydraulic, drainage, pipeline, and other related computer design programs.
- Knowledgeable in application of mathematics, engineering mechanics, and engineering materials.
- Experienced in utilizing design drafting tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Proficiency in application of office and documentation programs such as Microsoft Office, Mathcad and so on.
- Hands on civil design, construction management, and inspection experiences in land scaping, pavement, street, roadway, hydraulic/hydrology, water/wastewater, drainage, utility, pipeline and so on.
- Willing to work on structural design, construction management, inspection in buildings, industrial plant, bridge, culvert, retaining wall, foundations, and other infrastructural systems.
- Strong culture around safety, working targets, time control, schedule, and project deliverable process.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the project team and management.
- Excellent communication skills in English language, verbal and written

- Experience working in a multicultural engineering environment.
- Motivate other team members through leading by example.
- Able to influence others to gain consensus and action.
- Experience with environment studies, and traffic and traffic control design.
- Willing to work overtime as required per urgent project deliverables.
