Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-2+ years of related experience.
• Engineer in Training preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Interest in Civil/Site Engineering projects; prior experience preferred but not required.
• Strong CAD skills including AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WaterCAD.
• Proficiency in reading/writing English for communications.
• Attention to detail.
• Land Development project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project or creating from sketches or own design.
• Ensure designs comply with company and client standards.
• Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology and calculations.
• Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines and respond to RFIs.
• Conduct field inspections, surveys, measurements, and document findings in reports.
• Research and apply code provisions to design.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to create project designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D daily.
• Research design options and document findings for the project manager.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques with adaptations as needed.
• Assist Project Engineers and leaders in design creation.

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Engineering Designer to join its Civil/Site Discipline in Newburgh, NY. The individual's degree of involvement will be based upon his/her exposure and experience with respect to the assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project, applying changes and corrections from redlined drawings, and/or creating drawings from sketches of others or from own design.
• Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
• Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
• Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and respond to requests for information regarding same.
• Conduct field inspections and surveys, investigate variables, obtain measurements, photographs, videos, and take notes; write reports documenting same.
• Research and apply code provisions to design.
• Work with senior engineers to create project designs.
• Utilize AutoCadCivil 3D on a daily basis.
• Research design options and document findings for project manager.
• Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, using own judgement to make adaptations and modifications to existing designs.
• Assist Project Engineers and leaders as needed in the creation of designs.

• Land Development project experience is a plus.

Compensation: $75,810 to 89,040 per year (depending on qualifications)
