Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Civil Service Administrator to coordinate meeting requests, hearings, and communications with the Sheriff’s Office and executive staff. You will oversee the grievance process and help resolve conflicts while ensuring compliance with policies.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, 3 years of related experience, strong computer and typing skills, and proven management and interpersonal abilities to work with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or directly related field.
  • 3 years job related experience.
  • Strong computer and typing skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.
  • Management and supervisory experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Civil Service Commission meeting requests and presentations with Sheriff and staff.
  • Oversee employee grievance process; investigate and help resolve grievances and coordinate hearings.
  • Review policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws; recommend changes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and Sheriff’s Office to plan and implement promotional testing processes.
  • Handle administrative duties for the Civil Service Commission and organize information and meetings.
