The State of Georgia, Office of the Attorney General, General Litigation Division, Civil Rights Section, seeks an Assistant Attorney General to represent state officers and employees in federal civil rights matters. Travel is required in this position.

Graduation from an accredited law school and membership in the Georgia Bar are required. Preference given to those with 1–3 years of litigation experience and a commitment to public service in Georgia.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school and admission to the Georgia Bar.
• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Litigates cases in federal courts, including trials and motions.
• Researches and prepares pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Provides legal advice and representation to agencies and clients.
• Keeps abreast of developments in civil rights law and participates in related seminars.
