Our client specializes in bridge repair and rehabilitation, performing complex heavy civil construction projects throughout Florida and across the Southeast US.

We're looking for anexperienced Project Manager who understands heavy civil construction, takes ownership of project performance, and knows how to bring together field operations, subcontractors, engineers, and agency representatives to deliver successful projects.

If you enjoy solving complex construction challenges, working with experienced field teams, and taking responsibility for projects from planning through completion, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

What You'll Do

As Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for the planning, coordination, financial performance, and successful execution of bridge rehabilitation and heavy highway construction projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead projects from start to finish, overseeing planning, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, production tracking, subcontractor performance, and overall profitability.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field crews to maintain productivity, quality, and safe working conditions.
  • Coordinate with FDOT representatives, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review contract documents, specifications, plans, and project requirements to ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, documentation, and project correspondence.
  • Help develop and maintain realistic construction schedules, anticipate challenges, and implement solutions that keep projects moving.
  • Coordinate work involving bridge structures, concrete and steel repairs, protective coatings, and other specialized rehabilitation activities, as applicable to assigned projects.
  • Ensure effective planning and coordination of maintenance-of-traffic requirements and construction activities around active roadways and waterways.
  • Identify project risks early, resolve issues proactively, and maintain accountability for project outcomes.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong technical construction knowledge with practical leadership, sound judgment, and financial discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience managing heavy civil, bridge, highway, or transportation infrastructure construction projects.
  • Experience with FDOT or comparable state DOT projects, including agency specifications, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of structural concrete repairs, steel repairs, bridge rehabilitation, and related construction methods.
  • Strong understanding of project budgets, cost controls, scheduling, subcontractor management, and change-order processes.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and engineering documents.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Superintendents, inspectors, engineers, and field personnel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to project management, with the ability to anticipate problems before they affect performance.
Especially valuable experience:
  • FDOT bridge repair and rehabilitation contracts
  • Structural steel repairs, coatings, and corrosion protection
  • Concrete restoration, spall repair, and structural rehabilitation
  • Movable bridge or marine-related infrastructure projects
  • Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and construction staging
