Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Project Engineer you will design and oversee water and wastewater utility projects, including:

  • Produce Preliminary Engineering Reports and project designs for new facilities and rehabilitation work
  • Prepare project manuals, construction documents, and technical specifications
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines
  • Manage project advertisement, bidding, and contracting processes
  • Engage with municipal and private clients, as well as state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and support staff
Essential Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a consulting environment
  • NC‑licensed PE (or ability to obtain within one year if licensed elsewhere)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong technical expertise in water distribution, sanitary sewer design, and hydraulic modeling
  • Excellent communication skills and experience presenting to clients and stakeholders
  • Desire for leadership and growth into managerial roles
