Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer, PE to join our Land Development team. Work with a trusted firm delivering community infrastructure across the Southeast and beyond from our Charlotte office.

Ideal candidates will manage multiple civil projects, collaborate with project managers, and contribute to feasibility studies, plan and specification development, and construction administration. A PE license and 4+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina or ability to obtain within two months.
• 4+ years' progressive experience in civil engineering, including land development.
• Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency.
• Valid driver's license; travel to facilities and job sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel.
• Work with Project Managers to understand client needs and expectations.
• Prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
• Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports.
• Provide technical advice on design, construction or repairs to clients and contractors.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Responsible for the management planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel, both design and construction
• Work closely with Project Managers in understanding client needs and expectations.
• Review and/or prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies
• Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
• Provides technical advice regarding design, construction or modification and repairs to clients, contractors and other staff members
• May assist with business development activities (client needs, research, proposals, etc.)
• Coordinate construction administration and monitor documentation requirements with field staff

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina OR ability to obtain within two months
• 4+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including experience working with land development
• Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
• Possess a valid drivers license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required
