Job summary

Timmons Group in Virginia Beach is seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Land Development team. You will contribute to residential, commercial, and public space projects, delivering high-quality site design and documentation.

Responsibilities include designing site layouts, grading, utilities, stormwater with Civil 3D, performing calculations, preparing specs, and collaborating with clients and senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience in land development projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
• EIT certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and CAD software.

Timmons Group is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Land Development team in Virginia Beach. The Project Engineer II/III will contribute to a wide range of land development projects—from residential neighborhoods to commercial developments and public spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Designing site layouts, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems using Civil 3D and other modeling tools.
• Performing engineering calculations and solving real-world design challenges.
• Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.
• Conducting research and writing objective reports to support project completion.
• Assisting with cost estimates and construction planning.
• Supporting field inspections and data collection.
• Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality results.

Skills/Requirements

of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in land development engineering, including residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• EIT certification preferred.

Compensation

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$115,000. This position is eligible for straight-time overtime. There may be flexibility on salary for experienced candidates. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials role complexity.
