Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development to join our Land Development team in Charlottesville, VA. The position involves site development engineering and project management for residential, commercial and public land development, with duties in design, permitting and coordination using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Strong technical and communication skills are essential. Ideal candidates have 2–10 years of civil engineering experience; EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related degree
• Ideal candidates would have two to ten years of experience in civil engineering, EIT preferred
• Working knowledge AutoCAD Civil 3D required

Responsibilities

• Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and Civil 3D technology
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
• Prepare specifications materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project
• Work to complete design details and plan sets
• Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work or inspection
• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff
• Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff

Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development

Timmons Group is currently seeking aCivil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development candidate to join ourLand Development team in our Charlottesville, VA office.

Project Engineer II/IIIs are Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years’ experience. The qualified individual will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial and public land development projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, task management and team collaboration on design.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

Compensation Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$115,000. This position is eligible for straight-time overtime.
