Job summary

Cochran Union, Missouri HQ is seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer to support a range of civil engineering projects including site development, roadways, drainage, and utilities. The ideal candidate has an EIT and is pursuing or has achieved a PE license, with 3–6 years of experience, strong design and permitting skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT certification required.
• PE license preferred or on track to obtain within 12 months.
• 3–6 years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects (site development, roadway improvements, drainage, utilities).
• Prepare design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations, site layout, grading, and stormwater modeling.
• Support project managers with schedules, budgets, permitting, and agency coordination.
• Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staff as needed.
