Job summary

Nitsch Engineering in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil Project Designer to join our employee-owned firm. You will assist in preparing design documents for land development projects, including utilities, site layout, grading, roadway design, and construction details.

With 0–4 years of experience, you will use AutoCAD or Civil 3D and HydroCAD to create calculations, obtain permitting, and contribute to client delivery while aligning with QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• 0–4 years of work experience.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D and HydroCAD software.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines are necessary.
• Must have either taken or plan to take the FE test in the near future.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of design documents for land development projects including utilities, site layout, grading, roadway design, and construction details in compliance with Nitsch’s standards and our QA/QC policy.
• Use standard engineering formulas to create calculations for roadway design, site design, utility design, and stormwater management.
• Obtain permitting for public, commercial, and institutional site design.
