Broward Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking an entry-level Civil Process Clerk to support the service of legal documents in the Civil Division. You will perform routine administrative tasks, manage records, and assist deputies with the preparation and distribution of documents.

Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to perform entry-level clerical assistance relating to the service of legal documents within the Civil Division of the Broward County Sheriff's Office. Employees in this classification perform routine administrative support work in the preparation, review, correction, recording and distribution of legal documents and receipt as assigned. Incumbents function with considerable independence in routine tasks, referring non-routine or complex concerns to an administrative superior. Incumbents accomplish unit functions through rotating assigned work areas, and participate in cross training to ensure satisfactory performance in all Civil Process functions. Essential functions as outlined herein are not necessarily performed by all incumbents, but, rather, are accomplished by the unit as a whole. Performs related work as directed.

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). May require physical agility and balance for tasks, such as climbing, kneeling, bending, stooping and/or reaching for objects at or above floor level. Tasks involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.
