Job summary

CP Engineers is seeking a Civil/Municipal Project Manager to lead the delivery of civil and municipal projects, manage client relations, and ensure projects meet financial, quality, and schedule objectives. The role includes mentoring staff, coordinating resources, and supporting business development.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, 7–10 years of municipal project management experience, and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited program.
• 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience with increasing responsibility in municipal project management
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Ajera), Microsoft Office, and CRM tools.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Stormwater and Utility Modeling Software

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project teams, providing oversight, direction, support, and mentoring to ensure successful project delivery.
• Plan, budget, schedule, and monitor projects using Ajera; track invoices, expenditures, and project profitability.
• Maintain open communication with clients, stakeholders, and subconsultants; address issues promptly and professionally.
• Oversee resource allocation across projects to optimize efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and client specifications.
• Support marketing and business development by maintaining client relationships, educating clients on the firm’s services, and leading & assisting with proposals, networking, and CRM management.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and ensure project deliverables meet technical standards and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical leadership in areas of recognized expertise and pursue continuous learning to remain a leader in your discipline.
• Conduct staff performance reviews and collaborate on professional development plans for assigned team members.

Position Overview

The Civil/Municipal Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of civil and municipal engineering projects, including municipal capital projects, Zoning, Regulatory and Environmental/Land Use Compliance, and private site development. The position also requires developing & managing client relationships, and ensuring projects meet financial, quality, and schedule objectives. This role includes managing project teams, mentoring staff, coordinating resources, and supporting business development efforts. The Project Manager works closely with leadership to maintain alignment with company policies and strategic goals while promoting strong client engagement and repeat business.

Compensation range

: $115,000-$135,000
