Job summary

1872 Consulting seeks an Associate Attorney for civil litigation defense across offices in St. Louis, Madison/Green Bay, Seattle and Portland. You will manage your own files from assignment through discovery, depositions, motions and trial preparation.

Candidates must have a JD and active license, with 2–5 years of civil litigation experience (Portland requires 4+). Base salary ranges by office, plus a bonus and standard benefits.

Qualifications

• JD and active license in the relevant state(s).
• 2–5 years civil litigation experience; 4+ years for Portland.

Responsibilities

• Manage files through every stage of litigation, independently and as part of a team.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses.
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions and briefs, and argue them.
• Prepare for trial and support the trial team, including witness examinations.
• Analyze medical records, policies, contracts and other key documents.
