Pima County in the County Attorney's Office is establishing a register for current and future Law Clerk (Unclassified) vacancies within the Civil Division. Law Clerks will conduct in-depth legal research, draft memoranda and pleadings, and participate in court proceedings and client meetings.

The role supports attorneys, may be part-time during the school year, and requires eligibility per ABA-accredited programs; the position is in the unclassified service and exempt from Merit Rules.

Formación

• First-, second-, or third-year law student in or a graduate of ABA-accredited law school.
• Strong legal research and writing skills; experience drafting briefs/motions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsabilidades

• Research appeals and draft preliminary briefs or arguments.
• Perform legal research using Lexis, Westlaw, statutes, and case law.
• Draft motions, responses, and legal memoranda.
• Interview victims and witnesses; serve pleadings on opposing counsel.
• Maintain electronic and paper files; assist attorneys as needed.
