Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles related to highways, bridges, sewers, and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with state and federal transportation regulations and construction standards.
• Strong organizational skills to plan and implement programs.
• Solid mathematical, trigonometric, and geometric fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as resident project representative on projects of varying complexity.
• Coordinate with contractors and project owners, keeping informed of significant issues.
• Supervise inspectors and assigned personnel.
• Lead pre-construction, progress, pre-final, and other project meetings.
• Interpret plans, specs, and methods for inspectors and contractors.
• Oversee layout work, measurements, and elevations verification.
• Supervise materials sampling, testing, and inspection for compliance.
• Manage all aspects of construction processes on assigned projects.
• Recommend revisions based on field conditions.
• Prepare progress and final estimates, project accounting, and change orders.
• Oversee utility relocation work and ensure compatibility with plans.
• Perform surveying or design work as needed.
• Assist with client management and proposal development.
• Participate in project meetings with stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff.
• Ensure safety protocols and quality standards are followed.
