Job summary

Wood PLC seeks a Civil Helper to join our Baytown, TX team on a civil project through the end of 2026. TWIC card is required. Wood offers health, dental and vision insurance, disability benefits, 401k and PTO. U.S. work authorization without sponsorship is required.

The role involves concrete finishing, rod busting, building forms and temporary structures, reading blueprints, and material handling on site. 3+ years of field experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently.

Responsibilities

• Concrete finishing and rod busting experience.
• Builds wooden structures and forms per blueprints or oral instructions; lays out partitions and cabinet work.
• Examines blueprints to determine materials and dimensions.
• Loads, hauls and arranges job material at the site.
• Prepares layout of form or fixture using lines or grades.
• Measures boards and timbers and marks cutting lines.
• Shapes materials to sizes with saws, chisels and planes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently sourcing for a Civil Helpers to join our team in Baytown, TX for a Civil project that will last the remainder of 2026. TWIC card is required. Wood offers health, dental and vision insurance plans, long and short term disability, 401k and Paid Time Off. Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Concrete finishing and rod busing experience.
• Builds wooded structures, such as stairs, concrete forms, rod busting, concrete finishing, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters, according to blueprints, or oral instructions, and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work.
• Examines blueprints, sketches or building plans for to determine material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
• Selects, loads, and hauls job material to work site.
• Prepares layout of form or fixture to be fabricated using lines or grades.
• Measures boards, timbers, or plywood using square, measuring tape and ruler and marks cutting lines on materials using pencil and scriber.
• Shapes materials to required sizes using saws, chisels, and planes

QUALIFICATIONS
