Confidential employer in San Diego County is seeking an Estimator - Civil/Grading to lead bids from takeoff through submission and manage awarded work. The role focuses on mass earthwork, site development and paving scopes, with involvement in cost tracking and post-award buyouts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil estimation, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with digital takeoff tools. On-site, base compensation reflects experience with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years estimating heavy civil, grading or earthwork projects.
• Comfortable pricing large-scale mass grading and site development.
• Proficiency in reading civil plans, cross sections and geotechnical reports.

Responsibilities

• Read plans, specifications and geotechnical reports to build a complete scope.
• Run earthwork take-offs and cut and fill analysis in digital takeoff software.
• Price grading, excavation, import/export, site concrete and paving scopes.
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Build and submit competitive bid packages on schedule.
• Walk sites and attend pre-bid meetings to catch conditions not shown in plans.
• Hand off awarded work to operations and support budgets, buyout and change orders.
• Track bid results and actual costs to sharpen future pricing.
