Job summary

Branch Civil, Inc. is searching for a collaborative and driven Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will apply thorough knowledge of heavy civil construction and site development, act as a self‑starter, and report to the Lead Estimator.

The role involves quantity take‑offs, pricing, scoping, and bidding while visiting project sites to understand conditions and project specifications. Responsibilities include developing schedules, coordinating with clients and subcontractors,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of previous estimating experience.
• Strong math skills with a thorough understanding of geometry.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Understanding of geotechnical information.
• Ability to communicate technical information in writing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping and bidding of construction projects.
• Visit project sites to develop understanding of site conditions.
• Develop understanding of project specifications and bidding requirements.
• Compose and manage clarification correspondence with the client.
• Develop relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify constructability issues and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Assess site risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Review estimates with project managers and superintendents for accuracy.
• Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with MBE/DBE requirements in bid process.
• Understand safety, quality, and environmental standards and reflect costs accordingly.
• Execute accurate, detailed and complete estimates.
• Develop preliminary project schedules based on plans and specs.
• Track and document historical data for future use.
