McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks an experienced Civil Estimating Manager to join our water civil preconstruction team in Phoenix, Dallas, or St. Louis.

This role leads or participates in civil estimate preparation for earthwork, sitework, and yard piping across projects nationwide, including bid development and GMP considerations. You will collaborate with engineers, review bids, and develop cost models while using tools like HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and On-Screen Takeoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, and/or minimum 5 years of applicable estimating, design management or field management experience.
• Self-perform civil experience (preconstruction or operations) is strongly desired.
• General knowledge of civil construction with water/wastewater plant projects preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office is helpful.

Responsabilités

• Perform quantity take-offs.
• Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate presentation for owner.
• Evaluate bids and develop scope comparison documents.
• Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts, and direct information/documents to subcontractors.
• Collaborate with internal partners and engineers to help influence project design.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients, and represent McCarthy at industry events.
• Review project documents to identify value engineering suggestions and alternative pricing.
• Communicate with engineers and owners to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimating Manager to join our Water Civil preconstruction team in either one of our Phoenix, Dallas, or St. Louis offices. This role will assist the preconstruction team with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, bidding, and estimate development of the civil scope on water and wastewater treatment plant projects across the country. The Estimating Manager may lead or manage the preparation of civil estimates for these projects which primarily include earthwork, sitework, and yard piping.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, and/or minimum 5 years of applicable estimating, design management or field management experience
• Self-perform civil experience (preconstruction or operations) is strongly desired
• General technical knowledge of civil construction, with specific experience in water and wastewater treatment plant projects is preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of construction principles and processes, as well as cost model and GMP processes
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports
• General knowledge of estimating software including HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and/or On-Screen Takeoff is preferable, but not required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values while maintaining a "value added" approach to estimating
