Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Estimating Manager to join the Water Civil preconstruction team. The role is based in one of our Phoenix, Dallas, or St. Louis offices and covers water and wastewater treatment plant projects nationwide.

You will lead or manage civil estimate development, perform quantity take-offs, and collaborate with engineers to influence design while maintaining strong relationships with subs, vendors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of applicable estimating, design management or field management experience.
• Self-perform civil experience strongly desired.
• General civil construction knowledge with water/wastewater plant project exposure preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and geotechnical reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop or manage civil cost models and GMP estimates for CMAR and Design Build projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist with final estimate presentations for owners.
• Evaluate bids and prepare scope comparison documents.
• Prepare contractual exhibits for subcontracts and relay information to subs.
• Collaborate with engineers to influence project design.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative pricing.
• Clarify scope, materials, and schedule with engineers and owners.
