Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy, a business within Primoris Services Corporation's Energy segment, seeks an experienced heavy equipment operator for civil infrastructure projects across the U.S. You will handle excavators, dozers, loaders and graders, performing pre-op inspections and routine maintenance to keep projects on track.

You will read blueprints, grade stakes, and work with ground crews, ensuring safety and high-quality earthwork.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of verifiable experience operating heavy civil construction equipment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record; CDL preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to operate a variety of equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of civil construction practices, grading and earthwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy civil construction equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, compactors) per project specs and safety rules.
• Perform pre-operation inspections including fluids, tires, controls; report issues to supervision.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks (greasing, cleaning, minor adjustments).
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE at all times.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes and other docs to ensure accurate operation.
• Grade, level and compact earth, rock and other materials per plans.
• Load/unload materials and equipment as required.
• Collaborate with ground crews, supervisors and team members for smooth progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
• Operate to minimize environmental impact and comply with regulations.

Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites, primarily focusing on civil infrastructure projects, to support Primoris Services Corporation's operational needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate various types of heavy civil construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, motor graders, compactors, and other related machinery, according to project specifications and safety protocols.
• Perform pre-operation inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, and controls, and report any maintenance issues or defects to supervisors.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as greasing, cleaning, and minor adjustments, as directed.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to ensure accurate equipment operation and project execution.
• Grade, level, and compact earth, rock, and other materials according to project plans and specifications.
• Load and unload materials and equipment as required.
• Collaborate effectively with ground crews, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth project progression.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Operate equipment in a manner that minimizes environmental impact and adheres to all regulations.
