Job summary

SRK Consulting is a global independent engineering and consulting practice serving the mining sector. SRK is seeking a Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer for our Alaska hybrid team.

You will provide engineering design for mine waste and water projects, manage technical deliverables and budgets, assist with permitting, perform field investigations, QA/QC, and build strong client relationships while collaborating with other specialists.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil, geotechnical/geological or mining engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in the mining industry or engineering consulting.
• Registered EIT or PE preferred, or ability to obtain certification.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge Word and Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GIS, slope stability and/or hydrologic analyses is desirable.

We are seeking a Civil/ Environmental/ Geotechnical Engineer.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Provide Civil/Environmental engineering support in the following areas:
  • Engineering design for mine waste and water engineering projects
  • Preparation and review of construction cost estimates
  • Preparation and review of reclamation cost estimates
• Assist with project management of technical deliverables, scheduling and budgets
• Assist with preparation of permitting applications
• Perform field work, such as geotechnical investigations, engineering oversight during construction and manage QA/QC activities on mine-related earthworks
• Work collaboratively with other technical specialists
• Develop and maintain client relationships

Essential Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree in civil, geotechnical/geological or mining engineering
• A minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in the mining industry or engineering consulting
• Registered EIT or PE preferred, or ability to obtain certification
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Strong inter-personal and communication skills, including writing skills
