Job summary

Egis is seeking a Civil Engineering intern to join our transportation design team in the Providence area. You will help create horizontal and vertical alignments and contribute to 3D roadway models, with guidance from experienced engineers.

You're pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering, or are a recent graduate, with strong communication skills and the ability to work with in-person and remote teams. This internship offers mentorship and exposure to multi-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS in Civil Engineering or recent graduate.
  • EIT, or ability to obtain within 1 year is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create horizontal and vertical alignments and develop 3D roadway models.
  • Perform pavement, drainage, and traffic engineering calculations.
  • Prepare design drawings, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Support construction phase with shop drawings and responses to questions.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing roadways and drainage systems.
