Job summary

Haley Ward, Inc., a Portsmouth, NH-based civil engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineering Project Manager to plan, design, and oversee multifamily and commercial land-development projects. The role emphasizes schedules, budgets, QA/QC, and client coordination.

Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering field required, Civil Engineering preferred.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience; project management experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to the discipline.
• Progressive ability in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work.
• Effective manager of people with ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support and mentor.
• Sound mathematical skills required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Carlson, HydroCAD is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong leadership potential with desire to develop into management.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage project proposal development through planning, site design, stormwater design and permit documents.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
• Manage projects, oversee and delegate tasks, and engage in project design.
• Present projects to Boards and Commissions for approval.
• Work with regulatory agencies for project approvals.
• Prepare agreements including scope, schedule, fees and monitor financial performance.
• Participate in career path planning, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing.
• Cultivate personal business relationships and seek cross-selling opportunities with clients.

What You Can Expect To Be Doing

Haley Ward is looking for a Civil Engineering Project Manager. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, designing, and controlling the activities of projects to best accomplish the successful completion while operating within established schedules, budgets, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) policy constraints. Typical projects will entail Land Development Civil Engineering with an emphasis on multifamily and commercial developments.

• Oversee and manage project proposal development through planning, detailed site design, stormwater designer, preparation of site plans, drainage studies, permit documents and specifications.
• Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
• Managing projects, overseeing, and delegating tasks, and engaging in design of projects.
• Presenting projects to Boards and Commission for approval
• Working with Regulatory Agencies for project approvals
• Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitors financial performance of projects.
• Participating in career path planning and development, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for supervised team members.
• Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships during and after projects.

What You Will Need To Succeed

• BS in an Engineering field required, Civil Engineering preferred. Advanced degree in the area of work specialization is desirable.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience is required, project management experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to appropriate discipline.
• Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
• Effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor.
• Sound mathematical skills are required.
• Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Carlson, HydroCAD is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong leadership potential with a desire to develop into a management position.
• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.
