Job summary

Woolpert in Cincinnati/Ohio is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our PMO supporting civil, commercial, and utility-scale projects. This role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, client liaison, and strict program oversight.

You will define project scope with Market Leads, monitor budgets and schedules, and ensure quality deliverables across multiple concurrent projects. Hybrid/in-office arrangements apply; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of related PM/PMO experience in civil, commercial or utility-scale projects.
  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering is required; PMP/PE credentials preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for local, regional, and national clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects for civil, commercial, retail and utility-scale programs.
  • Define client needs, manage scopes, schedules, fees, and contracts with stakeholders.
  • Maintain financial accountability including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and AR follow-up.
  • Provide regular project reporting to leadership and executives.

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Project Manager with experience incivil,commercial, retail rollout,and utilityscaleprojects to join our dynamic Project Management Office (PMO)supporting the Ohioregional market.

This position can supportin-officeorhybrid working arrangements.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead andfacilitatecross-functional projects, with a focus onleadingteamsworking with high-profile clientsto provideEngineering, or Land Development services forcivil,commercial, retail rollout,and/orutility scaleprojects.
  • Define and communicate client needs and expectations. Proactivelyidentifyprovideresolution to project issuesimpactingprofitability, client satisfaction, and other key performance indicators.
  • Lead project teamand collaboratewith Market Leads inthe development andnegotiation of projectscope,schedule, fee, and contract termsforpotential projects.
  • Support client relationships and business development in support of strategic business plan, promotingWoolpert as an industryleaderexisting clients and potential clients.
  • Act as key point of internal and external contact for project communications, ensuring continuous stakeholder communications.
  • FollowBuilding Sector Project Standards (BSPS) and collaborate with thePMOteam with respect toproject execution, reporting, and delivery consistency.
  • Lead formal project setup activities, including completion of Project Setup Forms, development of Project Execution Plans, establishment of billing plans, and facilitation of structured project kickoff meetings with the project team.
  • Maintain financial accountability across assigned projects, including budget variance management, forecasting,timelyinvoicing, accounts receivable follow ‑ up, and adherence to approved contract scope and authorization.
  • Oversee the quality of deliverables prepared by team members, including but not limited tobudgets, work plans, risk mitigation plans, contracts,design deliverables,and other project documentation.
  • Oversee project resource forecasting, including initial resource loading, monthly forecast reviews, coordination with Subproject Managers, and proactive use of ETC variance toanticipateproject financial impacts.
  • Provide ongoing project monitoring and control throughuseof Executive Summaries, regular team check ‑ ins, proactive change management, and enforcement of contract terms related to scope, schedule, and fee.
  • Provide clear,timelyproject reporting to leadership, finance, and executive teams, including financial performance, risk status, and key project metrics to support decision ‑ making.
What You Will Bring:
  • Minimum of8-10 years’ related industry experiencerequiredin Project Management,Program Management, or Portfolio Management.
  • 4 year Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • PE (Professional Engineering license) preferred.
  • Experience in developing PMO procedures, documents, training material, reports, dashboards, and other management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience in Construction Administration, including the ability to communicate with cost estimators and general contractors.
  • Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and ability to facilitate discussions with project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence decision ‑ making, manage risk, foster teamwork, and deliver successful projects.
  • Ability to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information, data, context, and experience.
  • Experience with Project Management tools including MS Suite and enterprise resource planning, contract management, construction administration, project accounting, customer relationship management, and other virtual collaboration platforms.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% for local, regional, and national clients and projects.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
