Job summary

raSmith in Brookfield, WI is seeking a Transportation Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on engineering experience. You may work on roadway and utility design, traffic analysis, field data collection, Civil 3D tasks, and technical writing as part of project teams.

Qualifications

• Have completed the Freshman Year of a 4 year Bachelor of Science Program in Civil Engineering at a U.S. accredited college or university and coursework in civil engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Able to solve basic engineering problems.
• Good decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, detail orientation, interpersonal skills, and be a team player.

Job description

We currently have an opening for a student to fill a summer intern position to begin in Summer 2027 at our Brookfield, WI office (approximately 10 miles west of downtown Milwaukee). We are looking for students with an interest in gaining practical engineering experience through on-the-job training. The tasks are diverse, depending on our current projects. On any given day our student employees could be working on the following types of activities: roadway design, utility (stormwater, sanitary) design, flow monitoring and permit related activity.
