Job summary

Bowman in Chicago, Illinois invites applications for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers exposure to traffic studies, water/sewer projects, site and roadway plans, and construction documentation under supervision.

You will interact with multiple departments and participate in our intern learning program, building practical skills and professional growth. Responsibilities include assisting with grading, environmental design, CAD drafting, and field inspections,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in community college courses, a college degree program, or formal continuing education program.
• Focus on civil engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of project scope to include site grading, erosion and sediment control design, CAD design and drafting, storm water management design, water treatment, traffic analysis and/or utility design.
• Assist with field inspections.
• Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) responsibilities.
