Job summary

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Civil Engineering Intern to join our team. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office, and preference will be given to those who can participate for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

Responsibilities include assisting in civil design from conception to completion, coordinating with architects and environmental engineers, and interfacing with clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in architecture/engineering/construction management environments.
• Familiarity with civil design software and regulatory standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing civil engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with architects and environmental engineers to integrate project elements.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and agencies to address issues and support success.
• Support feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments for design decisions.
• Prepare technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
• Contribute to engineering designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D; learn standards and procedures.
• Assist in proposal/document preparation for projects.
• Perform additional tasks to support project goals and team objectives.

Job description

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Civil Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing civil engineering projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate various project elements seamlessly.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project-related issues and ensure project success.
• Provide support in conducting feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments to inform project design and development.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
• Contribute to the development of engineering designs and work with engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Learn and apply current engineering standards and procedures to assigned projects.
• Provide assistance with the preparation of technical proposals and documentation for engineering projects.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor to support project goals and team objectives.

Required

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or Open Roads Designer.
• Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.

Compensation Range

$47,959.00 - $54,498.00
