The Dyer Partnership Engineers & Planners, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to assist in planning, design, and delivery of municipal and public works projects under licensed professionals.

This role is ideal for recent graduates pursuing licensure and offers hands‑on experience with water, roadway, and site development tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with design, drawings, reports, field visits, permitting, and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline (required).
• EI certification or ability to obtain EI within defined timeframe.
• Knowledge of basic civil engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering design, calculations, and analysis for civil projects.
• Prepare and revise construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Perform data collection, field observations, and site visits as required.
• Support permitting efforts and coordination with public agencies.
• Assist with cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid documents.
• Respond to contractor questions and support construction administration.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and project managers to meet project schedules.
• Follow company standards, QA/QC procedures, and safety requirements.
