Job summary

Bentley Group, Inc. is seeking a Certified Engineer Intern to join our Longwood, FL office. This role offers exposure to multi-disciplinary civil projects and potential for upward growth within the company.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Civil Engineering, EI license, and 0–4 years of experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK/OpenRoads and Excel is preferred. Includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university is required.
• 0–4 years of experience and an EI license are preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and related civil engineering software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil site facility analysis and design.
• Prepare conceptual and final design and construction plans under supervision.
• Perform engineering calculations to support civil design.
• Coordinate with staff and external teams on projects.
• Assemble construction and permit documents, plans, and reports.
• Assist with applications for plan approvals and permitting.
• Maintain civil engineering records and project reports.
• Support intern-level engineering work in office and field.
• Verify work before submittal to the Engineer of Record or supervisor.
• Assist in cross-team coordination and related duties.

Minimum Experience Requirements

• Project Coordination
• Understanding of general Civil Engineering design principles
• Construction Document preparation for competitive construction bidding a Plus
• Experience in Site Geometry, Utility Services and/or Main design, Site Grading, Storm Drainage design, Stormwater Management, Stormwater Pollution Prevention design, and/or Local Agency Code Analysis and Implementation in Design a Plus
• Preparation of Project Documentation and Reports is a Plus

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform civil site facility analysis and design
• Prepare conceptual designs, final design and construction plans and specifications under the direction and supervision of the Engineer of Record
• Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design
• Function as a staff civil site engineering intern
• Assemble civil engineering construction and permit documents including but not limited to plans and reports
• Preparation of applications and forms for plan approvals and permitting
• Maintain and update civil engineering records and reports
• Perform intern level engineering work in the office and field related to civil engineering and construction projects
• Verify and backcheck all work prior to submittal to the Engineer of Record, project lead, project manager or supervisor
• Coordination with other in-house and out-of-office teams members
• Perform related engineering intern duties and responsibilities as assigned
