Job summary

Bowman invites applications for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Sunrise, Florida team with an immediate start in fall 2026. You will assist in traffic studies, water and sewer design, and roadway plans under experienced supervision.

You’ll gain exposure to CAD drafting, field inspections, and construction administration while collaborating with multiple departments and advancing through the intern program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in college courses or degree program.
• Focus on civil engineering or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project scope including site grading and storm water design.
• Assist with field inspections and site observations.
• Observe construction administration activities (RFI/Submittals).
• Collaborate with multiple departments and participate in intern learning opportunities.
• Follow supervision and established procedures.

Bowman has an opportunity for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Sunrise, Florida. This position is available for an immediate start in fall 2026.

Purpose

Introduction to designing and developing traffic studies, water, storm and sanitary sewer studies, and construction plans, civil engineering site plans, and roadway plans for construction.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Direction
  • Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.
• At the Operational and Company Level
  • Interact with multiple departments and peers within the organization and participate in intern program learning and development opportunities.
• Do the Work
  • Assist with all aspects of project scope to include site grading, erosion and sediment control design, CAD design and drafting, storm water management design, water treatment, traffic analysis and/or utility design
  • Assist with field inspections.
  • Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in community college courses, a college degree program, or formal continuing education program.
• Focus on civil engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.
