Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Mesa, AZ team for the summer. You will support a range of civil engineering tasks, from site development to transportation and utilities, gaining exposure to real-world projects.

This internship focuses on hands-on learning, mentorship from experienced engineers and project managers, CAD work, design analyses, and data collection as part of cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and analysis of civil engineering projects.
  • Use CAD software to create plan sheets and figures.
  • Prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
  • Perform material quantity take-offs and gather budgetary pricing.
  • Review engineering drawings and assist with quality checks.
  • Conduct field inspections, perform field tests, and collect project data.
  • Process, analyze, and document data to support design decisions.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and PMs.
  • Participate in project meetings and support problem-solving discussions.
  • Assist with project documentation, permitting packages, and memoranda.
  • Provide miscellaneous support tasks as needed.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced engineers and PMs
  • Expose to real client projects and deliverables
  • Potential consideration for future entry-level opportunities

Ardurra is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Mesa, AZ.

Primary Function:

Ardurra is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will support engineering assignments that contribute to the planning, design, and construction of a wide range of civil engineering projects, from site development and stormwater design to transportation, utilities, and community infrastructure. This internship is designed to give you exposure to real world engineering work, build your technical skills, and help you explore a future career in the civil engineering industry.

Primary Duties:
  • Assists with the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, including roadways, drainage systems, utilities, and site development.
  • Utilizes CAD software and other engineering tools to create plan sheets, details, and figures.
  • Assists in preparing technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
  • Performs material quantity take-offs and contact vendors to gather budgetary pricing.
  • Reviews engineering drawings within defined limits and assist with quality checks.
  • Conducts field inspections, performs field tests, and collects project-related data.
  • Processes, analyzes, and documents data to support engineering design and decision-making.
  • Works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, architects, contractors, and public agencies.
  • Participates in project meetings and support problem-solving discussions.
  • Assists with project documentation, permitting packages, and technical memoranda.
  • Provides miscellaneous support tasks to assist project teams as needed.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and reliability, learn new engineering processes, and collaborate effectively with project teams under close supervision.
  • Knowledge of performance standards and feedback techniques, with the ability to take ownership of actions, hold self and others accountable, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high expectations for quality and outcomes.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Work is generally conducted in a standard office administrative setting with limited exposure to physical hazards. This role involves minimal to moderate physical activity, including handling items weighing up to 20 pounds. It may require occasional standing or walking but primarily focuses on working at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.
