Job summary

  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
  • WI or IL PE license required with 6+ years hydraulics experience.
  • AutoCAD Civil3D, WaterCAD, SWMM, GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS or similar software experience.
  • Ability to perform calculations, write reports, and collaborate with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Performs design tasks for municipal infrastructure including wastewater, water, and stormwater systems.
  • Creates drawings and models per company standards using CAD or modeling tools.
  • Prepares reports, plans, specs, cost estimates, and permit applications.
  • Provides construction-phase services and reviews shop drawings and submittals.
  • Maintains project documentation and communicates with stakeholders.
  • Supports client development and maintains relationships.

Position Overview

We currently have an opportunity available for a Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Environmental Team in our Kenosha, WI office. The selected candidate will assist with the planning, design, and construction phase services for a wide variety of wastewater, potable water and storm water infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs design tasks including computations and analysis for municipal infrastructure including, wastewater treatment plants, sanitary sewers, lift stations and storm water facilities, and applies engineering principals to develop solutions and evaluate performance and life cycle cost of municipal infrastructure improvements.
  • Creates drawings and models following the company’s design standards and utilizing the designated CAD or modeling software with limited guidance.
  • Prepares reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, supporting documents and permit applications.
  • Provides construction phase services for water and wastewater treatment facilities and for sanitary sewer, potable water, and storm sewer infrastructure projects. Interprets construction plans and documents for the contractor and client, interface with operators regarding potential interference with operations,
  • Participates in preliminary review of shop drawings, submittals, change orders, punch lists and contractor as-builts and maintains project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, project files, RFIs and submittals.
  • Participates in progress meetings and assists in equipment startup and project close-out. Drafts correspondence, reports and communicates effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Participates in securing work from new and existing clients and maintains client relationships.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering is required. M.S. degree is preferred. IL or WI PE license is required along with 6+ years of experience in hydraulics with emphasis on one or more of the following areas: wastewater treatment, water treatment, water distribution, or storm water modeling.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D), WaterCAD, SWMM, GIS, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis software including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, XP-SWMM, Biowin and/or other similar software packages is desired.
  • Ability to accurately perform calculations to support detailed design recommendations.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to write technical reports and actively participate in project meetings and ability to collaborate effectively with other team members from multiple offices.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to projects sites are required.

  • Starting salary range: $89,960 – $118,560 + annual performance bonus.
