Sambatek, LLC is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team in Minnesota. You will support highway projects for county and state clients, preparing project documents, learning industry standards, and building your skills in a collaborative environment.

Hybrid work location with in-office training and potential field time; compensation is hourly with overtime. Ideal for EIT candidates and new graduates looking to grow as designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase.
• Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes.
• Participate in quality review processes.
• Perform CAD drafting in OpenRoads Designer.
• Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team.
• Potential opportunities to spend time in the field to perform construction inspection, material testing, and see transportation project sites.

Summary

Sambatek is looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team. In this role, you'll work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of transportation projects for county and state clients. You'll help prepare project documents, learn industry standards and processes, and build your skills while contributing to meaningful work.

• Expected start date: May/June 2027
• Work Location: Hybrid, in office for training phase
• Expected Compensation Range: $33-37 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
• Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week
