Overview

Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Vancouver Washington is seeking a talented and experienced Civil Engineer with a PE License to join our dynamic team.

In this dynamic role, you\'ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, public agencies, and vendors to bring exceptional designs to life. From subdivision, storm/sewer drainage, water supply piping, grading and surface flow, erosion control, and pavement/concrete design systems, you\'ll engage in a wide range of impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

Independently lead and mentor Civil design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of civil and site design concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
Coordinate with public agencies, external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
Understand government regulations and potential environmental hazards in our region including Land Use Applications and Stormwater Management Manual for local jurisdictions.
Ensure complete civil designs meet both jurisdictional and company Quality standards.
Use various software packages to evaluate and design site grading, sewer/stormwater/water supply systems, and related systems.
Respond to contractors during the construction.
Engage in business development, helping create proposals and prepare for interviews, finding creative solutions to present to prospective clients and scheduling and breaking down construction costs.

Requirements

Civil Professional Engineer (PE) License.
4+ years relevant design experience with civil design.
A strong understanding of related design concepts and jurisdictional requirements.
Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team.
Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Civil 3D.
