Job summary

Tiello has partnered with a well-established engineering firm in Des Moines, IA, to recruit a Civil Engineer (Land Development). The role encompasses planning, design, and construction support across site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways.

The ideal candidate will hold a Civil Engineering degree with EIT, experience in land development, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The position offers growth opportunities and collaborative, team-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT certification required; PE license or ability to obtain licensure is a plus but not required
• Experience in civil engineering, land development, municipal, transportation, or site design projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Knowledge of grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater design.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal engineering standards and permitting processes.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare plans for site development, grading, drainage, utility, and roadway projects.
• Collaborate with clients, municipalities, and internal teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and permit submittals.
• Coordinate with project managers to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.
• Provide construction administration and technical support as projects move into the field.
• Build strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the firm.
